![]() ![]() One guy on their forum bought added the brush kit and now it won't work and they are doing nothing for him. I'm not into solving mysteries and hide and seek. It should find the DAW and work without all the BS. The software SHOULD down load and install like most software. The fact that I cannot even hear them on my computer and that when I click the link for them in my programs and I get taken to their site not only pisses me off it make me suspect of the company as a whole. ![]() There is also problems with them crashing day when more kits and sounds are added and this seems to be the case regardless of the DAW. This is a common problem according to other users. The thing is I have read good things about AD but the fact that I downloaded them and they are no where to be found other than a about 15 files none of which contain tha application to be is BS. But to each their own, lots of luck to ya! Personally, I have tried the one's you linked to and preferred AD by a mile. XLN does have their act together, but there are so many choices for different tastes. You have a more sparse way with words, and beat me to it. Addictive Drums is perfectly fine, just take a deep breath and relax, we are trying to help you. Most apps have a running readout as it is installing. I suggest completely uninstalling Addictive Drums, and then reinstall and PAY ATTENTION to where it is putting things. We've all been there, but you need to relax and have a better attitude or no one can help you. This is a case of a possibly botched instal due to lack of paying attention or lack of experience. Enough people have already tried to tell you that the issue is not some scam from XLN, Reaper, or anyone. This sounds like a big confusion and you are not helping with your attacking and mistrustful attitude. So if you don't trust dealing with companies that hides folders and/or files, you may need to change operating systems. Windows operating systems, by default, hide certain areas of the system drive or partition. Hidden folders does not mean that a company hides them. If it is there and hiding I will not deal with a company that arrogant and inept. I found all the files that were downloaded and extracted and the drum machine is not there or can't be found. If it is a hidden folder then I won't use Addictive Drums. When I seach for addictive drums files and folders show up but none are the drum machine. I tried C/VSTPlugins and C/ProgramFiles/Steinberg/VSTPlugins with zero results. I tried various permutations of addictive drums. I went the folder options route and no luck. But relax, XLN is not scamming anyone, the software is no bogus, it's quite powerful actually.īy the way, the dll is called "Addictive Drums.dll" That MIGHT help you reveal the location of these "missing" dll's. Go to control panel, folder options, view, and select to not hide hidden folders (check out my attachment). It's also likely that you have the option set to hide typically hidden files, so you may just not be able to see these. Those are old-school default install paths for many plugins (the dll's). It sounds like you had it installed to default locations (I always tell installers where to put things, but that requires a little experience), so do me a favor: look in C/ProgramFiles/Steinberg/VSTPlugins (something like that). This is just a minor glitch caused by misinformation. There are many many people (me included) using this software successfully. It is listed in my programs but when I click it it goes to their webste and says "product up to date" Reaper can't find it either.Įditing post: The actual drum machine is either not there of windows can't find it. I have serached for Addictive Drums.dll and window can't find it. I think I did that but I will repeat the process. Rescan if needed Reaper automatically scans all the subfolders.ĪD is listed under both VSTi and Instruments in Reaper's FX Browser. Therefore, search for "Addictive Drums.dll", write down it's location (beware of the version!) and then put that location in Reaper's VST search path box (Options -> Preferences -> Plug-ins -> VST). If you have used common procedure for placing VST plugins in their proper locations, plug-in DLLs should be there, in either root VST folder or one of its subfolders. Library and support files are placed elsewhere and they don't need to be scanned by Reaper. ![]() Loads fast and is extremely stable.īy default, XLN installer puts only different versions of "Addictive Drums.dll" file (actual 32- and 64-bit plug-in) in both VST32 and VST64 folders, respectively. ![]()
